Shri Guru Ravidass Ji’s Gurpurab (birthday) was celebrated with Prayers, Kirtan and Paaht at the Bhawan on the 19th of February. The Akhand Phaath sewa including the Langar was by RK Foods. The Granthi and the Sangat remembered Shri Guru Ravidass Ji, sang his hymns and told stories about his life and teachings.
The newly acquired lights for the Bhawan were switched on for the first time. These will become a permanent feature of the Bhawan and will be turned-on at special accessions. Shri Guru Ravidass Ji’ Gurpurab was celebrated all over India, UK and places in the world where our community resides.
The Birthplace of Shri Guru Ravidass Ji is in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. The Prime minister of India, Mr.Modi and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath attended Shri Guru Ravidass Ji Janam Asthan Mandir (birthplace temple) on the 19th of February to celebrate and pray at the Mandir. The government of Uttar Pradesh declared 19th of February as a public holiday to commemorate the Gurpurab of Shri Guru Ravidass Ji
